Enrichment tip of the week

8/25 Travel has been a big part of my life this summer and as I take a break and enjoy the sun in San Diego I have been thinking about getting our birds outside. Sunlight is so good for our birds' well-being and sometimes we fail to offer this very enriching opportunity. If you aren't comfortable with taking your bird outside because you are worried about fly offs I would suggest investing in a small travel size cage. They are easy to move around and when you step outside to catch a few rays you can easily provide enrichment for your bird by grabbing the cage and taking it outside with you. I wouldn't recommend prolonged time in a travel size cage but for some brief sunbathing it's a great way to spend some time enriching yourself and your bird.
